Mercy, Peace and Love be Multiplied

We must come to Father God with an attitude of humility and submission. Moses got angry and spoke unadvisedly with his lips. In Psalms 106 that is an error, by speaking of a wrong spirit and a wrong message. Then Apollo's had a beautiful spirit, but he spoke error in truth. His heart was right, he studied the scripture but he preached John’s baptism after Jesus’ resurrection. He had the wrong message. You can preach error in truth. You can have the right heart and everything you say is wrong. We have all done that before.

In Philippians chapter 1, Paul said there are those that preach Christ and he is the truth, of contention, jealousy and strife. You can preach truth in the wrong spirit and you can also preach truth in truth. Where ministry is effective is when we preach the truth in the spirit of truth, which is love and harmony and unity in Christ. So we don’t come with an attitude of anything but humility and submission to the Lord and unto the house, and then to articulate what God is saying. This is very important because in Isaiah chapter 1 through 5, Isaiah cried "woe be unto you, woe be unto you," and when he saw the Lord in chapter 6, he said, "woe be unto me." Then God touched his lips from the brazen altar with a coal of fire and in the next chapter it is recorded of him preaching something nobody had ever preached. He started preaching a virgin shall conceive and bring forth a son. His message changed and he began to preach something supernatural that had never happened before.

We need to articulate the Gospel correctly and it takes God to enable us to do that. There is a lot said about the mouth of ministry. There is a lot said in the Word about the mouth of ministry. In Jeremiah 23, "He that hath my Word, let him speak my Word faithfully." In 1 Peter 4:11, "If any man speaks, let him speak as the mouth piece (or the breath, or the wind or voice) of God." The Bible tells us in the Song of Solomon 4:3-11, "The lips of the bride are like scarlet, and there is milk and honey under the tongue." In Proverbs 31, "The law of kindness is in the tongue of the bride." Not just on the tongue but in the tongue of the bride. So there is a great deal said about the mouth ministry.

Psalms 45, talking about Jesus, said grace was poured upon his lips therefore the blessing was forevermore. The Bible said we are to let no corrupt communication proceed out of our mouth. I don’t want to preach corruption to you, I want to preach and teach the truth that edifies in grace. That is my part as the Pastor here.

You have two parts and number one is to accept what is being said. No one can help you if you are not open. Pastor Garner has said often, we need to listen and we need to believe. That is the two characteristics of a person who has an open heart an open mind. They are listening with their mind and they believe with their heart. So I exhort you to accept what is being said in the messages and then to apply it to your life.

The Holy Ghost will show you how this Word will apply to your life, so you can act on it and live out of it in your life. Then if God gives authority, ability and anointing and ministry in the attitude of submission and humility to articulate what God is saying and people will accept and apply it, then God creates abundance. This is found in the book of Jeremiah, which is the pattern for ministry in the Gospel.

Jeremiah 23:3-5

3 And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.

4 And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD.

5 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.

This is what we believe in, that preaching is not wasted time, but we are sowing the seed to bring this house to the unity of the faith. We are not sowing a seed of thirty-fold, or sixty-fold but a hundred-fold in the name of the Lord.

We want to look at the book of Jude from verses’ 17 to verses 25. We are going to talk about practical things today. We all need to study the Bible in its entirety. We don’t need to skip over any passage. They are in the Bible for a reason. God wrote a perfect book and the only thing wrong is, man doesn’t understand it fully. Every passage, every line and every word will unveil the person and work of Jesus Christ in the volume of the book. That means from Genesis chapter 1 to Revelation 22 in the volume of the book it is written of Jesus Christ. When Jesus opened the book in Luke 24, which was Genesis through Malachi, he opened the book and preached himself. Then opened that same passage and opened their understanding to understand the scripture from those words, "how he must suffer and be raised from the dead, and that remission of sins should be preached in his name.

If we have true understanding in the Word then God will show us the Word is not many messages. Pastor Garner has helped us to see the Word is not many messages, but one. One congruent message and as we preach Christ in these parallel passages through the book of Jude, we find out the preaching of Christ, "Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:" (Colossians 1:28)

By preaching Christ, I am able to warn, teach and present. Through faith I am able to present you perfect in Christ. I am able to show you in Christ, you are perfect in him. I am able to present every man perfect in Jesus Christ.

The purpose of the book of Jude is to express the Fathers heart. Jude 1:2 Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied. We should get mercy, peace and love from this letter. Thank God for mercy, we have all needed mercy. Peace is a wonderful thing. When you have opportunity to fear, thank God for mercy and thank God for peace and thank God for his love that never fades and never fails. His mercies in love are new every morning. Thank God for his love. The message of the whole Bible is mercy, peace and love be multiplied to you. In this letter, the exposing of the hindrance of false brethren is seen in this letter. It shows us that there are those among us who could be spots in the feast.

Next the book serves as an exhortation to holiness and faithfulness in Christ.

Jude 1:3

3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith, which was once delivered unto the saints.

He is talking about the finished work. The faith delivered unto the saints was the Lord Jesus Christ. He was in the beginning with God and creator of all things. That is number one. Number two the Lord Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary. He was born from the womb; he was not the seed of Joseph he was the seed of Jehovah, he was not the seed of man he was the seed of God. You must believe in that or the rest of the Word falls apart.

Then the Lord Jesus from the moment he came forth from the womb of Mary to the moment he went to the cross, he knew no sin. We must believe his righteousness. He knew no sin. He was tempted in all points like we are, yet without sin. "He who knew no sin." Adam sinned in a garden and Jesus went into a garden to rectify what Adam did in a garden and ended up on a cross as man. Through submission to the hand and heart of God, Jesus drank the cup. He said if it be possible let this cup pass, but nevertheless not mine, but thine be done and drank the cup. He did not just deal with his generation but dealt with the past. He reached back to Adam, forward to the last man that would ever be born. In the mind of God the cross reaches all the way to the throne because the blood is sprinkled there. In the mind of God the cross reaches all the way to the heart of hell, because Jesus took the keys of hell and death, by conquest.

If you go out of this realm we call time, there are only two places, heaven and hell. So God dealt with all of eternity through the cross. He dealt with everything that Adams transgression would ever produce to the last man that would ever be born in sin. He got the last man in sin, the last cancer cell, and the last man that would be gripped with an ungodly thought; he dealt with everything that Adam produced. He did it all! If we know what Adam did, he put all man in bondage, then we can have more faith in what Jesus did. Jesus drank the cup to take us out of bondage and Adam ate and put us in bondage, Jesus drank and that delivers us. God through the Lord Jesus Christ has set us free.

The true purpose of Jesus coming was to die the death of an old life so that now in us he can express himself and he lives his life in us and we live out of that life. Jesus died our death, suffered the curse and took all that we were. This message needs to be preached again and again until we are so convinced and convicted this is so, that we are free from the curse of the Law and we are delivered from what ever we were. We who knew no righteousness (just as he knew no sin) might be made the righteousness of God in Christ.

We know that Jesus was raised from the dead and Jesus got up, and in that resurrection he ascended and in that ascension he set down and today at the right hand of God he is ministering and able to save those who come to God by him. He is able to save them to the uttermost, spirit, soul and body. That is the Gospel and our faith ends and is finished in the throne where Christ sets.

Psalms 37 the Bible said, "Mark the perfect man." Who is the perfect man, Jesus is? Mark the perfect man that is the mark of the high calling. Mark the perfect man, consider and behold the upright, the end of the man. The end of the man is an unchangeable priesthood seated in the throne. Every piece of furniture in Moses Tabernacle pictures Jesus Christ. The brazen altar is now in the throne, because that is where the blood was shed and sprinkled on the throne. The judgment of the brass laver is now in the throne, because the blood is sprinkled and it speaks of a death. That is the old man that used to be alive and is now crucified and dead.

Then the candlestick is there because the very thing God said is fulfilled in the person of Christ, seated and enthroned in mercy in his own blood. The bread and wine on the table of showbread, the bread is seated on the throne, his name is Jesus and the wine is there sprinkled on the mercy seat. The altar of incense is no longer on the other side of the veil. Read the book of Hebrews, the altar of incense is on the inner side of the veil, because that’s where Jesus is and that veil has been rent. Now our intercessions are not on the outside of the veil, they are in the throne, because he ever liveth to make intercession for us.

Everything God revealed in Moses tabernacle, God brought to conclusion and fulfillment in the throne and now Christ is seated in the throne, is the end of my faith and my anchor holds within the veil. The Lord Jesus Christ got a resurrected spirit, soul and body. This gives us confidence to believe we are resurrected in spirit, we know that has already happened. We have already in spirit been raised and seated with him in heavenly places.

Now we are taking and setting our mind on things above where Christ sets at the right hand of God. "If ye be risen with Christ, set your mind on things above, where Christ sitteth at the right of God, for ye are dead and you are hid with Christ in God and Christ who is our life shall appear." Our mind, our soul is being transformed by the renewing of our mind. We attend Church to understand what Jesus did, to know and set our mind on that.

The Word said, "Be not conformed to the world, but transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you might prove the good, acceptable and perfect will of God." God is changing and rearranging my thoughts. He is causing every thought to be obedient to the death of Jesus Christ. Bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ and he was obedient to death. Jesus learned what it meant to obey death, so you could learn what it means to obey life.

Jesus Christ was raised up spiritually and he is raising our soul up and our souls are being transformed. We also have the assurance of Philippians 3:21, "Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself." Not just spirit and soul but body. Jesus got resurrected spirit, soul and body and you will in Christ live forever, whole spirit, soul and body. He is talking about this corruption putting on incorruption and this mortality shall put on immortality. That is a glorious and wonderful truth, and it is the anchor, which holds within the veil. Our anchor is in a man, Christ Jesus, and that man is spirit, soul and body. So our hope is in spirit, soul and body. Our hope is in the man, Christ. Him being on the throne seated is an unchangeable priesthood.

He swallowed up all the death and death will never touch him again. He did that once because once was enough. This is the faith, which was delivered to the saints. We must earnestly contend for that faith. Every message must be brought subject to that message. Everything we teach and preach must come out of the foundation of Christ and flow into the glory of Christ in the throne.

If we teach on marriage we start with, "Husbands love your wife as Christ loved the Church and gave himself for it." If we teach on finances we start with the giving of God. "God so love the world that he gave….." You never start with us and where we are. You start with God because He is the beginning and you always end with the Lord because he is the end. When we preach and teach, Jesus is the foundation of the Church, he is the framework of the church, he is the fabric of the church, he is the focus of the Church, and he is ultimate. We are growing up, into him in all things! That is the very heartbeat of the Father and the faith once delivered to the saints.

Jude unveils to us the problem with the false teachers perverting grace. Grace can be perverted one of two ways. We can pervert grace by teaching law. We have all done that before. We preach in the light that we have, but we haven’t always had all the light. We are preaching it as we see it but it is very likely, that tomorrow we will see with more light. If I am not where you are, be patient with me because I am ever learning and coming to the knowledge of the truth. I don’t want to be one of those people ever learning and cannot come to the knowledge of truth. We want to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. In times past I have preached things that were not so and I am sorry.

I did not start out to deceive anybody, I just preached in all the light I had. Often the problem is we want to preach before we have any light or enough light. I have found when you put law on a person you stir the passion to sin. When you tell them not to, they want to all the more. When you preach against something it causes the want to, to arise within a person. You can also preach grace in the wrong way and cause lasciviousness to manifest, which is just as wrong and brings bondage just as quickly.

It is law and lasciviousness that are outside the confines of our liberty. There are many people that hear what we are preaching and they think we are condoning sin. We do not condemn sin and the reason we don’t is because somebody has already done that. Romans 8 said God sent his own son in the form of sinful flesh and for sin, to condemn it in the flesh. Rom 8:3 for what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

He not only condemned it in your flesh and my flesh, but he condemned it through his flesh and he nailed it to the tree. We used to read Isaiah 58, lift up your voice like a trumpet and show my people their transgression. Ministry has taken that verse and used it as a reason to preach sin and preach against sin and point out sin in the Church. The truth of it is Jesus Christ already condemned the transgression of man in the flesh on the cross. Jesus has already condemned sin to die and they have already died in Christ on the cross.

What a minister of the Gospel is to do, is to lift up our voice and show you everything that was written against you, was nailed to the tree. What happened to your transgression, it was nailed to the tree? How, because he who knew no sin, was made to be sin? That changes the whole understanding of Isaiah 58. The chosen fast in Isaiah 58 is to shut your mouth. You can’t eat with a shut mouth. In Isaiah 52 the kings of the earth shut their mouth because they see something. That is the chosen fast of Isaiah 58 to shut our mouth as far as sin goes. It has been dealt with. Isaiah 58 parallels the book of Hebrew. What you come to in the book of Hebrews is what causes you to shut your mouth. There is nothing more to say, because the blood is speaking on your behalf. That is your fast.

If I show you sin, I show you that it is nailed to the tree. You need to see that and when you believe it; they will pass from you to Calvary. We don’t condemn sin, we don’t’ preach and attack sin or lost people, and because of that we are criticized. Neither do we condone sin, we don’t tell people to go sin. We teach people that sin is not condoned nor condemned, but that it has been crucified. It is very important that you understand the difference.

We teach, how can we that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? In order for me to believe that I am dead to sin, I have to know how I got to be that way. I know now, how I got that way, through what Jesus did as me and for me. Through his death, I become dead to sin. Through his life I’m alive unto righteousness and I reckon it to be so.

Today I reckon myself to be alive unto God, indeed unto righteousness, but also dead unto sin. That operates through the power of what Romans 3:27 said. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

The law of faith causes it to work. My faith is in Him! He did it all! So we don’t condone or condemn, we teach sin was crucified, you are free. You’re as free from law as you are from lusciousness. God is showing liberty today, stand fast in the liberty whereas Christ has made you free, and do not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage. You are free and we are just preaching Jesus’ freedom.

Jesus died to set you free. He lives to set you free. That whole plan of redemption was so that you could be free and stand in the image and likeness of God with Christ in you and live in Christ and Christ living in you. He wants you to live free and whole, and live a victor, an overcoming, blessed, delivered, free, washed, regenerated and made alive in Christ Jesus. That is what the whole work of the Cross was about, to liberate broken, fallen humanity and he did that. He did all of that, thank God. He set us free of every thing outside of Christ, every thought and belief system.

All of us still have some belief systems that are not of God and he set us free from every belief system that is not of him. One by one God is unraveling those beliefs by teaching us truth. He set us free from every word, action and belief that is outside of Christ so that in Christ he could live and have his expression. That expression is a righteous expression. That is what the book of Jude is about.

The danger is, that through the absences of fear and the flow of the spirit and the fruit of the spirit and no foundation of order and fellowship of the saints, some of those things are obstructed from our lives. God doesn’t want anything to hinder us, he wants us to lay aside the sin and the weight that so easily beset us and run the race with patience.

Prov 4:10-13

10 Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.

11 I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.

12 When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.

13 Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.

Prov 19:20

20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.

What is true in the majority of God’s children is they will not receive instruction in the Word. They are too busy and do not see the importance or what they hear does not go along with what traditions of men have taught them. Therefore they stumble, their life is short and there is no wisdom in all of their doings.

Jude 1:17

17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

We believe in a personal and practical Gospel. My revelation will never be more powerful than it is personal and practical. Christianity is not practical though it is all uncanny. There is nothing practical about God coming as a man, living, dying and rising from the dead and in all of that, delivering you from who you were. There is not a thing in the world practical about that. It supercedes natural wisdom and that is not the way man would have done things. It is supernatural.

God brings that supernatural power into earthen vessels. We have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. So out of that realm of the powerful comes the personal and the practical in my life. I want what I’m walking in to work every day in my life. Pastor Gary Garner has said, "Our test comes Monday morning," and he is right.

So remember the words, which were spoken before the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.

There are some things, which you need to remember. You need to remember and keep in mind and renew your mind to what the Lord Jesus Christ has done. You need to remember what Jesus has done for you and to never forget that. You need to put on the helmet of salvation. The helmet of salvation in 1 Thessalonians 5 is called the ‘helmet of hope’. Biblical hope is the steadfast unwavering confidence of God’s expected end. God said, "I know the thought that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end." That end is Christ in the throne. You are an inheritor of the throne of God in Christ.

You put that on and that’s your hope. It is an unwavering confidence. We are filled with hope and you need to remember what Jesus did for you. The Apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ preached the death, burial and resurrection. You need to remember what Jesus did for you and as you. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so! We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the Word of our testimony and Jesus becomes the Word of our testimony. Our testimony is that we were crucified with Christ, we died with Christ, and we were buried with Christ in that old life. In our new life we were quickened, raised and seated with Christ and that is our testimony.

My testimony is the Lord Jesus Christ lives in me, I am an over commer, I’m a new creature, I’m born of God, born again, a son of God, indwelt and in filled with the out flowing of the life of God in me. I am blessed of the Lord, and highly favored and that is my testimony. That is the Word in my testimony and let the redeemed of the Lord say so.

He redeemed us from the hand of the enemy and we need to say so and agree with God in Jesus name.

Jude 1:18

18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

So, he not only said, remember the words, but remember the warning. I don’t want to spread fear to you, but there are things around you that cause shipwreck to faith. As your Pastor I love you and you don’t need to get involved in them. In 1st Timothy chapter 1 Paul talked about how Hymenaeus and in chapter 1 of 2nd Timothy, Philetus and Alexander made shipwreck of the faith. He said, "Putting away faith and a good conscious." We have seen shipwreck in many people’s lives. I know of people who have set under the preaching and teachings of the finished work of Jesus Christ and have been healed of sickness and other problems and yet have gone back into what Father God delivered them from. We grieve over that. It is heart breaking.

This is what the book of Jude is about he said, remember. Because of some things that get into people’s lives they allow certain things to come in and instead of pursuing the Word, Father God and fellowship with the brethren, they go back. We don’t judge those people but we are believing God for them to come back into the faith. Some of them are in deep despair, sickness and on the verge of loosing everything. To go that route you have to depart the faith.

So, just remember the warning. Beware lest any man spoil you. Beware; don’t let any man or thing distract you from Christ. Don’t let anything take your eyes from Christ. Pray that God will help you set your heart, mind and eyes on Jesus Christ.

Colossians 2:6-7

6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

Don’t let anything draw you away from Christ and beware lest any man spoil you through philosophies, deceits and traditions of man and the rudiments of the world and not after Christ.

Jude 1:19

19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

You notice that when people depart the faith, almost invariably they depart the fellowship of the Saints and we need one another. In Proverbs 30 the wisdom of God is given in four very insignificance creatures. Number one, the wisdom of God is in the ant. The ant sees the winter coming and she prepareth her meat in summer and in the wintertime she is not out looking for food. That is called foresight. The wisdom of God will always give you foresight.

Number two, the wisdom of God, the Conies dwell in the rocks. Conies were little creatures that had no defense, no ability to stave off predators, but they dwell in the rock. That’s foundation. Wisdom will give you foresight and foundation.

Number three wisdom is in the locust. You don’t ever see locust by themself. Farmers don’t say, "Oh no, here comes one locust, we better get out of it’s way." They are called a swarm of locust. Proverbs 30 said the locusts have no king and they go forth by bands. The wisdom there is fellowship even though they don’t have a king they go forth by bands.

Number four he said, the spider is the wisdom of God because she taketh hold with her hands. You tear a spider’s web down, a few hours latter it will be back up. She takes hold with her hands and she is found in the king’s palace. The wisdom of God causes you to walk in faithfulness. Foresight, foundation, fellowship and faithfulness, the wisdom of God brings us together because we need one another. In the house there are different expressions of Christ. No one man houses all of the Christ.

There is an expression of Christ in me and there is an expression of Christ in the rest of us in this body. You need all of the expression, not just what’s in me. The fountain in every one of us is the same. The filtering point of that fountain of life is your soul because no body in here has the same soul. The expression of Christ comes forth through your soul. That is why you will see one person as Christ the intercessor. Then another person you will see Christ the worshipper. You see Christ the administrator in some and Christ the exhorter in others. You see Christ the lover, Christ the mercy of God and that is why we need one another, because when we come together there is a multifaceted expression of Christ that’s very different than any one of us. This is why we need one another and I don’t believe you will mature by yourself.

You need to make sure you are listening to the whole five-fold ministry. You need to hear the heart of an Evangelist the lover of mans souls and Christ the Pastor always guarding the sheep as a good shepherd. He is always looking out over the flock protecting them, that is Christ the Pastor. Listen to Christ the Prophet and he is always prophesying of Christ, declaring and decreeing things that are so, because the spirit of Christ is the spirit of prophecy. Listen to Christ the Apostle, he brings government and foundation and structure to the house of the Lord. The truth is we need every expression of Christ to make the house complete.

Simply said, we need one another and I need you. There are people off by themselves. Some are just listening to tapes in their homes and just setting at home. They act like they don’t have any sense about them. If a person is not connected with a Church body, they should pray and let Father direct them where to go. We need the body of Christ and the expression of Christ. I have said before, if I were not going here, I would go somewhere before I would sit at home. In this house alone there are many expressions of Christ. Don’t ever separate yourself from the structure of the Church body.

Jude 1:20

20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

Christianity is lived from the inside out. Rely on the One within you. What do you have inside of you, not what you have in your hand? It’s not what is your ability; it is what is in your hand. Too many people want to pattern themselves off of what they thought it meant when God asked Moses, "What do you have in your hand?" They think that means ability. No, God wants you to operate out of who is in you and it is Christ in you. The prophet Elijah asked the little women, "what’s in your house?" I want to ask you today, what’s in your heart? God Almighty lives inside of you if you are born again. You have what you need inside of you.

We spend too much time trying to get God to send things down when we need to let Him flow out of us. There are those of us who need healing today but healing is within you. We need life and life is inside of you. We need joy but joy is within. We need victory but victory is inside of you. What we need to do is let it out!

God is showing us the Gospel to remove all of the seals, to open the living epistle, to let who is in us, out. You have the Holy Ghost in you and God wants to fortify you from the inside out. God wants to strengthen you from the inside out. He wants to energize you and fill you and overflow you from the inside out. It is out of him that you live and out of him you move and out of him you have your very being!

The very life flow of God is inside of you and there is nothing or no one that can conquer the God that lives inside of you. No devil, do demon, no darkness, no disease, no loss, no sorrow, no lack that can conquer the God that lives inside of you. Nothing shall separate you from the love of God. Just rely on the one in you, pray in the Holy Ghost. Thank God for praying in the Spirit. When a man prays in the Spirit he speaks not unto man but he speaketh mysteries in the spirit, speaking unto God. He prays and edifies himself (meaning to build up the house). Pray always in the spirit and rely on the One inside of you. What’s in your house, not what’s in your hand or what’s out side.

Jude 1:21

21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

We use the word there, revelation. We need to feed on the revelation of God’s love. How much does God love us? The answer to that is, there is no answer. You can’t measure how much God loves us. The Bible answer that in Romans 5:8 and it is really unfathomable to the mind of man. Romans 5:8 but God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. There is no measure to that love.

The Bible calls his love the fullness of the measure of the stature of Christ. How much does he love us? We need a revelation of the love of God.

1 John 4:16

16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

It is a good thing to build faith in the love of God. You do that by understanding what God said about love. That nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ, tribulation, peril, famine, nakedness, the sword, all these things, nothing can separate us from the love of God. Neither angels nor principalities, things present or things to come, height, depth, life or death, nothing can separate us from the love of God, which is in Jesus Christ our Lord.

We begin to be confident in that love so we need revelation there. Then we need to realign our focus and our mind. Then he said we need to look for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. We need to look for mercy and mercy is a wonderful thing because it comes to people who don’t deserve it.

Jude 1:22

22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:

Some people just by reaching out and being compassionate can make a difference in their life. Just showing compassion and love can make a difference. Let them know you care about what they are going through. Reach out to others.

Jude 1:23

23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

This is saying ‘rescue them’. You do that by intercessory prayer and through faith and ministry that God gives us. Lift them out of that fire in prayer. Sometimes people are so much under the fire they can’t pray for themselves.

Jude 1:24

24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

That is complete total spirit, soul and body salvation. That brings us to rest. Who saves me, Jesus? I don’t save myself. Jesus said if you save it you will loose it. If you will loose it you will save it. If we will let Jesus save us, we will be saved. This brings us to such a rest to know that we are resting in him who is able.

There is no shortage in his ability. He is able to save to the uttermost. Jesus saves spirit, soul and body and that brings us to rest. Even when I am unfaithful, unwise, which I have been, the Word of the Lord is, "Look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith." Every time you are unwise or unfaithful, you will hear a voice that says, "Look at you." "Look what you did, look at what you said, look at you," and this is the good fight of faith? When that voice comes you hear, "you are not fit to be a Christian much less a Pastor." "Look at you, look at you, look at you is the worst advise you have ever gotten. The New Testament never tells you to look at you, it tells you to look at Jesus. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.

The thing to always do is, look to Jesus because he is able to present you faultless before God. You can’t do that. Once you mess up, you can’t go back and atone for your own sin. That is like people on a diet, they say, I’ll over eat today and go back on the diet tomorrow. That is just trying to atone for your own sins. You’ll eat more tomorrow than you did today. Looking unto Jesus produces a rest to know, if we deny him he is faithful. If we turn from him, he is faithful. He can’t be anything but faithful. That produces a rest to know it is Jesus enthroned that saves us. Thus we are able to rest because he becomes our salvation.

Ps 27:1

1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

He presents me vault less before God and the exceeding joy of the glory of God in his presences. It is Jesus that does that and it causes me to rest.

This is what we are rejoicing in today, that Jesus is faithful. That is why we can sing the songs we sing and come into his presence, because he is faithful and Lord of all.

Finally in the doxology of this letter is the reason we can rejoice.

Jude 1:25

25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

These are some very practical things we have spoken of today.

· Remember the word’s spoken by the Apostle’s and remember their warning.

· Remain faithfully; remain in fellowship with the body.

· Rely on the One in you, have a revelation of God’s love, realign your focus, reach out to people, you can make a difference through compassion.

· Some we may have to rescue but that’s all right because we can rest. He is able to present us faultless. In that light we are able to rejoice in the only wise and true God our Saviour Jesus Christ.

God is bringing us to a place of rejoicing. Do you remember when you got born again, you accepted the Lord Jesus Christ? You opened your heart and you embraced Jesus as Lord. The moment you embraced him as Lord you had no theology or scriptural understanding. You had no way of knowing what really happened to you but you were born again, you were changed. From that moment on is a quest to discover what really happened there. In the knowledge of what Jesus has done, we can rejoice that Jesus is Lord of all. I can tell you that Jesus is faithful.

So the message of the book of Jude, its mercy, peace and love multiplied that there is a liberty in Christ where we are free. You are free today and you have been free since the moment you got born again. God wants you to wake up and believe it.
