Seated With Christ Puppet Skit

Oogene: Hey, Dad! I need some help!

Dad: What can I help you with Oogene?

Oogene: I have to do a book report for school. I’m supposed to write about royalty and their customs.

Dad: Well, son, why don’t we go to the Library and find a book about that. Do you have an idea of what you want to write about?

Oogene: Yeah, kinda. Dad, I was thinking about what we learned in Children’s church.

Dad: How is that son?

Oogene: Well, we have been learning about King Solomon’s throne. Does every king have a throne?

Dad: Yes, in one way or another, every king has a throne. There are many different kinds of kingdoms and traditions that go with them.

Oogene: Does every king have a gold throne like King Solomon made?

Dad: No, son. King Solomon’s throne was like no other, because of his wealth and more importantly, what that throne represented.

Oogene: What do you mean?

Dad: Oogene, you know how at church Pastor talks about the Bible having pictures in it?

Oogene: Yes, sir.

Dad: Well, King Solomon is a picture to us, of Jesus. Remember how God gave Solomon great wisdom? No one else ever had such wisdom. When we look at the picture of Solomon, we see Jesus. Our Bible tells us that Jesus is the power and wisdom of God. Solomon had great wealth. God gave all power and dominion to Jesus. Jesus’ kingdom is greater than any kingdom ever created.

Oogene: Wow! So what about the throne, Dad? How does Solomon’s throne compare to Jesus?

Dad: King Solomon’s throne was created from ivory, which is a precious stone. That stone is white. The throne of Christ is first of all built in righteousness. Next, King Solomon’s throne was then overlaid with gold. The throne of Christ is covered with the very presence and nature of God. King Solomon sat upon that throne and ruled. Jesus is at rest within His throne. Oogene, do you know what Jesus’ throne is?

Oogene: No, Dad. Is it in heaven?

Dad: Everything that pertains to Christ is in heavenly places. But what is so special to us is that Jesus made us the righteousness of God, through His death on the cross. Then when Jesus ascended in to heaven, He took us with Him and brought us into His rest. We have become the dwelling place for the very presence and nature of God, Oogene. We are the throne of Christ. He rules and reigns from within us.

Oogene: Oh cool!!! You mean King Solomon’s throne is talking about me in Christ?

Dad: Yes, son.

Oogene: So that is why it is important to know that we are seated with Christ!

Dad: Yes, that is why it is important to grow into our understanding of what Jesus did on the cross. It effects every part of our life.

Oogene: Dad, do you think my teacher would let me write about King Solomon?

Dad: I don’t see why not, son. Let’s go get our Bibles and start reading about King Solomon.
