The Seven Pillars of Truth Who Adam Was and What Adam Did- Puppet Skit Freddy: Hey Oogene, look at my birthmark! Oogene: That’s cool Freddy! It looks like a dinosaur! Freddy: Ooooh, You know what’s weird? My Dad has the same exact birthmark on his shoulder! Oogene: You means it runs in your family? Freddy: I guess so. Grandpa enters Grandpa: How you boys doin’ today? Looks like a fine day for fishin! Oogene: Hey Grandpa, Freddy has a cool birthmark just like his Dad. Grandpa: Boys, that’s called inheriting your ancester’s genes. And I ain’t talking about them britches you have on. Freddy: What does ‘inheriting genes’ mean, Grandpa? Grandpa: It means that because you are born into the same family line, you automatically have traits inside of you that were passed on through your bloodline. You can’t do anything about them. Here, sit on my thinkin’ log with me boys, and I’ll explain what I mean. You see, its like the difference between Adam and Christ. When Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden, he changed his very own self. He went from bein’ like God to bein’ in sin. And when Adam and Eve had children, their children inherited a life of sin. They didn’t have to do anything, they were born with it. As humans, we were all born after Adam with Adam’s nature inside of us. Oogene: But Grandpa, Jesus gave us a new nature! Grandpa: Yes He did, Grandson. Through the cross we received the life of God in us. And so, if we now have a new nature, does that mean we have a new inheritance? Oogene: I know it does, we’ve been learning that at church! Does that mean we have the genes of Jesus, Grandpa? Grandpa: You bet it does, Oogene. The Bible calls those genes incorruptible. Freddy: Does that mean we might start looking like Jesus in some ways, like I look my Dad? Grandpa: Yes son, I already see some of His genes comin’ out of you! Ha Ha Ha! Well, boys, we better get a movin’, before the birds think we’re permanent fixtures of this log. Besides, I like yer company, you keep me thinkin’. Let’s go! The End |
