The Seven Pillars of Truth
Puppet Skit #1

What is Man?

Jenny May: Mom, can I ask you a question?

Mom: Of course, Dear. Is something troubling you?

Jenny May: I heard something at church today and I don’t understand it.

Mom: Honey, if I can answer you, I will. What is it that you don’t understand?

Jenny May: I heard pastor say that there are seven pillars of truth. I know what truth is, but what does it mean Man has Seven Pillars?

Mom: Pastor is teaching us that God has a system He brings out through the writings of the Apostle Paul. When we grow in the knowledge of Christ, and who God made us in Christ, it helps us to soar like an eagle, like you learned in the Six Steps to the Throne.

Jenny May: You mean it helps me to keep my mind on things above?

Mom: Yes, Dear. And it also helps you to live out of the nature of Jesus inside of you.

Jenny May: What is a pillar? Is it like the pillars in front of big mansions?

Mom: Jenny May, that is a very good example! In the days when they built big houses, they would build pillars to support the house. You and I are the spiritual house of God, and we need these pillars to support our foundation.

Jenny May: What would a pillar be to us?

Mom: Well, for instance, the first pillar of truth is "what is man?"

Jenny May: You mean it’s a question?

Mom: Yes. And then you search the Scriptures and discover the answer. The answer to this question is that man is a Spirit, has a soul and lives in a body.

Jenny May: Oh, I know that! I learned that at church!

Mom: Yes, honey. And does it help you to know who you are in Christ?

Jenny May: Oh yes! In children’s church we have learned that God wants us to live out of our spirit, and that our body is only a tent or covering for our spirit man. Grandpa told me when I pray for somebody because I want to, it is coming from my spirit.

Mom: That’s wonderful, Honey! God has given you loving teachers to guide you guide your way.

Jenny May: I never thought of it that way, Mom. You mean, my teachers are given to me by God?

Mom: Yes, Jenny May. God is always before you guiding your way and He has chosen every person who will help you to grow in Him. Even your Grandpa!

Jenny May: That’s awesome! Thanks, Mom! I think I understand a little better now. I still have some questions, but I’m gonna wait and ask my Sunday School teacher. Can I call Brenda now?

Mom: Yes, you may make a phone call. Don’t stay on the phone very long!
